Maintenance Planner - Manufacturing
Celgard, LLC, a part of the Asahi Kasei Group, develops and manufactures membrane battery separators critical to lithium-ion batteries for electric drive vehicles (EDVs) and energy storage systems (ESS).
About The Role
We are seeking a Maintenance Planner to join the Maintenance team in Charlotte, NC. This full-time, non-supervisory position reports directly to the Plant Maintenance Manager and operates on an 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, schedules, and maintains preventative and predictive maintenance programs for equipment to ensure uninterrupted operation.
- Owns the maintenance Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule for all production and facility equipment.
- Develops, schedules, and controls preventive and reactive work orders to maintain machinery and equipment in proper working condition.
- Manages maintenance records, including:
- Electronic records of all PMs.
- Work order history in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Contractor documentation for safety inspections and PMs.
- Serves as an expert user of the CMMS, interpreting and manipulating data such as asset registers, PM task lists, backlog data, and KPI reports.
- Provides technical support (problem-solving, etc.) to the Maintenance group as needed.
- Assists in locating and ordering parts and materials for maintenance work.
- Coordinates activities of key third-party contractors performing regular maintenance work in the plant.
- Supports improvement projects aligned with plant strategy, ensuring successful implementation and measurable business results.
- Participates in plant safety processes and supports compliance with site procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.
- Ensures planning processes incorporate safety, permit, and risk management requirements for safe and compliant work execution.
- Works with engineering and reliability functions to embed lessons learned, equipment history, and failure trends into job plans and PMs.
- Manages and tracks all scheduled and required fleet maintenance services (PMs, oil changes, DOT inspections, state inspections, etc.).
- Maintains a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in manufacturing equipment repair or parts.
- Planning experience for maintenance activities.
- Organizational skills and experience with information analysis.
- Continuous Improvement / Lean manufacturing experience.
- Proficient with MS Office and CMMS software.
- Experience as a project team member, contributing to successful project execution through leadership, collaboration, and delivery of key objectives.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

- Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment and facility maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Working Environment
This position is in a manufacturing plant setting, requiring work in a production environment around chemicals and machinery. Work will be in both office and production areas, with up to 80% of time spent standing or walking. The role may require lifting up to 35 pounds and/or applying force to push, pull, or move objects. Celgard manufacturing sites are IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certified.
