12-month contract role located in Wheatfield, IN with potential for extensions. W2 contract; no PTO or benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

About the Role

Maintenance Technical Support focused on planning, procedure development, and technical guidance. The role involves collaborating with the current Maintenance Supervisor to develop processes, plan work, and address technical questions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe work environment by inspecting job sites, reviewing maintenance procedures for hazards, and conducting pre-job safety briefs.
  • Enforces safety rules and regulations consistently.
  • Prioritizes environmental equipment and systems maintenance to ensure compliance with environmental permits and procedures.
  • Coordinates with the Operations Superintendent, Engineering, and Plant Manager to develop repair strategies and maintenance schedules.
  • Communicates work performance standards and expectations to employees.
  • Develops budget requests for plant equipment and systems maintenance and capital improvements, including project purpose, scope, estimated cost, and benefits.
  • Follows through with implementation of approved projects.
  • Controls and tracks department expenses to operate within budget and forecasts expenses monthly.
  • Responds to emergency calls outside of normal work schedule on a regular basis.
  • Trains and evaluates employees on proper use of tools, machinery, maintenance procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Assists operating departments in monitoring equipment and troubleshooting abnormal conditions, determining maintenance scope and timing of repairs.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Maintenance or a related Engineering discipline within a Power Plant, similar industrial process, or military service.
  • Commitment to maintaining safe work practices.
  • Strong technical background in Power Plant equipment and systems, with an instrument and control background.
  • Ability to utilize predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasound, and tribology.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of maintenance management processes.
  • Strong communication skills across various media with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
  • Familiarity with other maintenance disciplines and understanding of relationships between mechanical, electrical, and control equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or formal training in Power Plant operating departments, project management, and maintenance management practices.

Pay

$40.00 - $50.00/hour

Schedule

12-month contract with potential for extensions. Regular response to emergency calls outside of normal work schedule.
