Maintenance Planner

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Create detailed work orders with required labor, tools, and materials.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production, technicians, and supervisors.
  • Maintain equipment records, maintenance history, and work orders.
  • Ensure parts and materials are available by working with purchasing and inventory.
  • Analyze equipment performance and recommend reliability improvements.
  • Track and report maintenance KPIs (downtime, work orders, costs).
  • Coordinate outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, including PPE and lockout/tagout.
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve equipment efficiency.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of maintenance planning, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability.
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methods.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and project management skills.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A technical degree or certification in maintenance, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Experience

At least 3 years of maintenance planning or related experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
