Maintenance Planner 2/3

About the Role
The Maintenance Planner develops work packages for Corrective and Preventive Maintenance in accordance with Integrated Safety Management System principles. The Planner will interface with all stakeholders and ensure that appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) participate in the planning process. The planning process includes defining the Scope of Work, identifying hazards by performing a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), incorporating required controls into the work instructions, and routing the work package to appropriate SMEs for approval. The planner will also document special tools, equipment, and materials required for the safe execution of the work package and assist in the Work Request screening process. This position reports to the N3B Integrated Work Control Program Manager.
Responsibilities
- Develop technical work instructions for Corrective and Preventive Maintenance in accordance with Integrated Safety Management System principles.
- Interface with Work Task requestor to fully define the scope of work.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the Integrated Work Control Process.
- Interface with other Subject Matter Experts to facilitate Scoping and Hazard Analysis (JHA) walkdowns.
- Engage appropriate SMEs to identify appropriate Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures, as necessary.
- Involve required SMEs during work package review/approval and incorporate feedback throughout the process.
- Own the work package from initiation to close out, including records disposition.
- Execute the Change Control Process when conditions require a revision of the work instructions.
- Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software to status and track work packages during the planning process.
- Participate in Schedule Meetings to provide work package status updates and ensure alignment with site priorities.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of and experience with facility maintenance planning including systems engineering design and maintenance, safety/authorization basis, configuration management programs, work control, facility control systems, major construction projects, and upgrades and renovations.
- Working knowledge in conducting research, investigating, and identifying alternative solutions to solve complex problems affecting facility maintenance and administration.
- Full understanding of work hazards, safety practices, and operating configuration.
- General knowledge of Integrated Safety Management Systems (ISMS) implementation and OSHA requirements for safe work performance.
- Able to perform duties and tasks that are varied and complex.
- Able to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of problems and issues.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Able to develop approaches for new or improved processes.
- Ability to work with broad objectives, with latitude to determine the best way to accomplish tasks.
- Able to lead certain aspects of a task or project.
- Must be able to complete and maintain all training and qualifications required for the position.
Qualifications
Experience in using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software is preferred. Prior US Department of Energy Nuclear experience is preferred.
- Level 2: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline combined with 3 years of relevant experience. A combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position’s duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.
- Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline combined with 5 years of relevant experience. A combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position’s duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.
Education Equivalency: 1 year of relevant experience for 1 year of college.
