Maintenance Multicraft Technician 1

Physical Location: Lynchburg Box 3491, Mayflower Drive, Lynchburg, VA

About the role

Following all safety rules and practices, you will perform preventive and emergency maintenance to support plant operations. This includes mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam system repairs and installations, as well as troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components, and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels.
• Perform emergency/breakdown maintenance as necessary to support plant operations.
• Accurately use measurement and test equipment.
• Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, cleaning up as part of completing assigned tasks.
• Accurately and completely prepare and maintain maintenance records and other paperwork.
• Troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Work with computer systems for maintenance processes, stores, and work orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
• Work alternative shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Fully cross-train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.

Requirements

• High school degree (preferred).
• At least two years of successful mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry (highly preferred).
• Strong knowledge of lubrication, hydraulics, welding, pneumatics, electrical, and electronics technologies.
• Willingness to work any shift, call-ins, holidays, and overtime as demanded.
• Excellent teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with computer systems for maintenance processes, stores, and work orders.

Pay

$29.28 per hour

Schedule

Full-time, hourly. Shift dependent on business need, with constant demand for overtime in the maintenance department.
