Maintenance Mechanie

About the role

This full-time position oversees the performance and maintenance of large production machinery in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
• Thoroughly clean machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
• Oil and lubricate moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
• Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts.
• Order and install replacement parts for machines.
• Identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
• Repair broken machines quickly and efficiently.
• Prepare reports documenting work performed.
• Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
• Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
• Collaborate with the product manager or plant engineer regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.
• Make necessary modifications and implement test runs; confer with product manager regarding test results and make additional alterations to machinery as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Electrical certification is required.
• Basic hydraulic knowledge is required.
• Four to five years in a maintenance position.

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, as well as standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts, hand tools, electric tools, and trucks. This position works both inside and outside the plant as required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and stoop or kneel. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Schedule

Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with overtime required as dictated by the workload.
