POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with plant maintenance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building. Maintains accurate communication to other mechanics and departments. Supports station mechanic and operator basic functions of machinery and equipment. Effectively uses electrical testing equipment. Responsible to identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate those to supervisor or lead person. Initiates and conducts routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision. Maintain shop 6s policies and cleanlinessOther duties as required. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak EnglishAbility to pass a Prove It testTwo years’ experience in maintenance field preferredHave the ability to work with minimal direct supervisionExcellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problemsExcellent communication skillsExperience in the operation of maintenance power toolsKnowledge of electric and mechanical proceduresFlexibility to work weekends as neededTo perform this job successfully, applicant must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
