Maintenance Mechanic - Millwright
About the role
Innophos is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic - Millwright to complete work orders including removing, repairing, and installing machinery and equipment at the Geismar Plant.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with unit operations to ensure the work site has been prepared and to avoid interfering with activities of other workers.
- Follow lockout-tag out procedures, checking for documentation of entry permit and ensuring lines are closed and locked.
- Dismantle failed equipment (motors, pumps) using hand and power tools such as hammers, wrenches, crowbars, etc.
- Transport equipment to the shop using hoist, lift trucks, dollies, and rollers.
- Assess failed equipment, order replacement parts, and assemble the equipment with the new parts.
- Re-install machinery after prepping the supporting surface by bolting, welding, riveting, or otherwise fastening machinery to the foundation.
- Align machines and equipment using micrometers and plumb bobs.
- Perform checks for leaks and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
- Perform under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, unusual, or dangerous situations.
- Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per job task specification or specified plant location.
- Perform other duties based on changes in operational, safety, or environmental factors.
- Demonstrate management’s commitment to safety.
- Complete all HSE regulatory training and any company-mandated training related to HSE, maintenance, production, food safety, and security.
- Utilize PPE according to specific plant location or per job task specification.
- Operate up to a 25-ton crane.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, including proper wearing of clean protective clothing, personal hygiene standards, and adherence to food/drink/tobacco restrictions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); certification from technical school or 5 years of millwright experience in an industrial environment.
- 5 years of millwright experience in an industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of dismantling, removing, and re-installing equipment in the plant.
- Computer literacy and forklift operations experience.
- Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
Environmental and/or Physical Requirements
Work is performed in the plant as well as the maintenance shop. There are frequent physical demands associated with this position, including regular lifting (some heavy), stair climbing, working in the heat, and handling tools.

Schedule
4-10’s (5:30 am - 4:00 pm) with rotating on-call schedule. Bi-weekly pay on Fridays.
Pay
- Mechanic I: $37.24 - $41.38
- Mechanic II: $42.57 - $47.30
- Mechanic III: $47.89 - $53.21
