POSITION

Maintenance Technician Level II

Summary

Responsible for providing maintenance to all converting and corrugating equipment to minimize downtime.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe workplace for all team members.
  • Demonstrate the ability to set up, adjust settings and repair for optimum equipment performance.
  • Demonstrate the ability to execute maintenance repairs and operating procedures.
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot folding and gluing issues.
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan and schedule maintenance work.
  • Follow up work request and make possible the proper machine performance.
  • Maximize the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run available capacity and speed at 90% or better.
  • Willingly to work all necessary hours and shifts.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Follows corporate Quality, Sanitation, GMP and HACCP standards to achieve a finished product within quality control specifications.

Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Education And/or Experience

  • Minimum 2 years maintenance experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Experience in machine setup

Language Skills

Able to understand basic written instructions.

Mathematical Skills

  • Able to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
  • Able to deal with problems involving machine operation or product/raw materials quality.
  • Able to apply concepts of high school math.

Other Qualifications

  • Must be available, at work, during peak seasons and able to work overtime, including weekends, when business demands require it.
  • Must be willing to drive between locations from Watsonville to Salinas.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is not exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather)
  • Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts;
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles;
  • Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions;
  • Occasionally exposed to vibration.

Performance Measurements

  • Operating standards - the employee will need to meet or exceed the Operating Standards in the areas of quality, cost, safety, customer satisfaction and productivity. Such standards will be set annually and communicated to the employee.
  • Personal growth - while the company will provide the tools to assist the employee to grow professionally the responsibility for moving forward lies with the individual. Each year there will be goals developed and agreed to by the employee and his/her superior.
  • Employee relations - through observations the employee will be evaluated regarding his/her behaviors associated with the appropriate human interaction, respect, and communication.
  • Creativity - this will be evaluated by how active the employee is in participating in advancing the business through new and innovative ideas.
