Job Responsibilities
- Support plant production by performing repairs and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment containing electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum systems.
- Rebuild and modify production machines and components to support technology improvements and control parts cost.
- Support the installation of manufacturing equipment.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical test instruments relating to control circuits.
- Directly support PMT, TPM, Lean Maintenance, and Lean Energy activities through team membership, innovative thinking, and completion of assigned projects.
- Act as a resource for manufacturing operator skill training and help develop area MIT abilities.
- Apply precision maintenance workmanship in all preventive, corrective, and project activities.
- Analyze machine failures for root cause and recommend corrective actions.
- Absist in annual equipment inspections.
- Apply developing technical skills and process knowledge to solve troubleshooting situations.
- Assist senior technicians, principal technicians, lead technicians, and technologists in complex troubleshooting situations.
- Understand how to apply PLC inputs/outputs for troubleshooting.
- Use drawing packages and multi-meters to determine electrical issues.
- Diagnose mechanical wear, alignment, adjustment, and setup issues.
- Support the creation of standard procedures for troubleshooting and setups/changeovers.
- Collaborate with engineers, technologists, vendors, and equipment suppliers on equipment projects.
- Support technologists or engineers on the floor and assist other supporting groups.
- Collaborate with engineers, technologists, and quality personnel to approve new equipment, which may involve traveling with overnight stays for factory acceptance and training.
- Carefully maintain Maximo work orders and complete all essential quality records.
- Review spare part inventory items in relation to Maximo work orders.
- Understand criteria requiring SR and other equipment-related documentation.
- Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, or discrepancy issues occur.
- Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.
- Learn, understand, and apply rigorous quality standards, established guidelines, and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Required Qualifications/Certifications
- Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred; High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of mechanical systems repair, industrial maintenance, or equivalent technical experience required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to individually lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to bend/stoop, squat, climb, reach above shoulder level, reach at or below shoulder level, twist and bend at the neck and waist, and balance.
- Standard visual acuity, including the capacity to differentiate colors.
