About the role
Assist Maintenance Mechanics with the installation, relocation, and maintenance of manufacturing machinery and equipment in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist Maintenance Mechanics with the disassembly of manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Help identify, label, organize, and safely store machine components, hardware, wiring, hoses, and other parts during equipment moves.
- Assist with moving, positioning, and installing machinery using appropriate tools and material-handling equipment.
- Help mechanics reassemble machinery and equipment after relocation.
- Assist with aligning, leveling, securing, and positioning equipment as directed.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical equipment safely and properly.
- Assist with disconnecting and reconnecting mechanical components, guards, belts, chains, piping, hoses, and other equipment components under the direction of qualified personnel.
- Follow drawings, instructions, diagrams, and mechanic direction when disassembling and reassembling equipment.
- Maintain an organized work area and properly store tools and equipment.
- Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Assist with general preventive maintenance, repairs, and mechanical projects as assigned.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as needed.
Requirements
- Previous manufacturing, maintenance, mechanical, construction, or equipment-moving experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work effectively with Maintenance Mechanics and other team members.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and components as required.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and around machinery.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when labeling and organizing components during equipment disassembly.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment components as required.
- Ability to work around manufacturing machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to wear required PPE and follow all applicable safety procedures.
Work Environment
This position is primarily performed in a manufacturing/industrial environment. The employee may be exposed to machinery, noise, dust, temperature variations, and other typical manufacturing conditions. Proper PPE and safety procedures are required at all times.
Pay
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule
8:00 am – 4:30 pm and/or 10:00 am – 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday
