Maintenance Mechanic (Grade 9) Boiler Operator

Pay starts at $33.36/hr.

About the role

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of boiler plant, air compressors, breathing air compressors along with associated dryer/purifiers and adiabatic cooling tower. Provide support to piping service, including piping installations, welding, troubleshooting, and repair of yard water, sewer, steam condensate, and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boiler plant and air compressors
• Support piping installations, welding, troubleshooting, and repair of yard water, sewer, steam condensate, and plumbing systems
• Work with steam distribution and condensate recovery systems
• Maintain and operate gas/oil fired boilers, air compressors, and air dryers

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• State of Maine boiler operator's license (Grade C, 4th Class, Grade B minimum; preferred 3rd Class, Grade A or 2nd Class, Grade AA)
• 5–10 years' experience in industrial/commercial plumbing, pipefitting, boiler operation, waste disposal, and potable water systems
• Familiarity with IBC codes
• Demonstrated ability to work with steam, condensate, water, and sewer systems
• Working knowledge of steam distribution and condensate recovery systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Maine State plumbing license
