About the role
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining MSE facilities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Order and manage parts inventory for repairs and installations.
- Inspect and repair equipment such as pumps, fans, valves, and motors.
- Learn building control and electrical systems; assist in developing maintenance programs.
- Ensure safety standards, participate in emergency procedures, and identify hazards.
- Support regulatory compliance and perform visual/operational inspections.
- Manage daily mechanical operations and respond to service requests.
- Attend relevant training and stay updated on technical practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 5+ years' relevant experience in building repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of HVAC, fluid handling, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to lift 80 lbs., work at heights, and work overnight/weekends.
Skills
- Preferred certifications include CFC Universal Technician and DC 3rd Class Steam Engineer or willingness to obtain.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CMMS systems, and experience with Trane Tracar BMS is a plus.
