Maintenance Mechanic - 3rd shift
About the role
The Maintenance Mechanic position is available for a Journeymen level individual with a minimum of 4 years of experience, including a minimum of 5-8 years of experience as a Journeyman in a mechanical trade. The role requires a technical school education, a state of Michigan driver's license, knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, hydraulics/pneumatics, and building related repairs. Essential duties include performing preventative maintenance, installations, diagnosing/repairing and troubleshooting equipment, and utilizing fabrication skills on existing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on facilities and manufacturing related equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues
- Work with conveyor, pumping, hydraulic and compressed air systems
- Utilize fabrication skills on existing equipment
- Work flexible hours, including possible Monday through Saturday scheduling, with the department determining the 40-hour work week based on production and scheduling demands
- Occasionally work overtime as needed
Requirements
- Technical school education and 4+ years of experience
- Journeyman certificate in a mechanical trade and 5-8 years of experience preferred
- State of Michigan Driver's license
- Knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, hydraulics/pneumatics, and building related repairs
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance, installations, diagnose/repair and troubleshoot equipment
- Demonstrated history of being a dependable and cohesive team member
- Willingness to maintain and advance skill level through personal effort and training
- Strong attention to detail/safety and a high level of accuracy
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical trades, including experience with metal fabrication, welding, hydraulics/pneumatics, and building related repairs. They should also possess a technical school education and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, with a Journeyman certificate in a mechanical trade and 5-8 years of experience preferred. A state of Michigan driver's license is required.
