Maintenance Mechanic 1 - 2nd Shift
About the role
As a Maintenance Mechanic 1 (2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays) you keep our production and packaging lines running. You'll troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, perform scheduled preventative maintenance, and identify and replace worn or defective parts before they cause downtime.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production and packaging equipment with minimal supervision
- Maintain and repair packaging equipment including fillers, conveyors, palletizers, and bottling systems
- Complete electrical troubleshooting including sensors, relays, photo-eyes, and motor connections (120V–480V)
- Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, and variable speed drives used in plant operations
- Install, modify, and repair conveyor systems including roller, belt, chain, and Intralox
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime
- Document maintenance activities, work orders, and completed repairs in our CMMS (MaintainX)
- Support equipment installations, relocations, and modifications, using shop tools and fabrication equipment as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- 4 or more years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience (required) — packaging, food and beverage, plastics, or a similar production environment (preferred)
- 2 or more years of electrical troubleshooting experience, up to 480V
- 2 or more years of fabrication AND machining (mill, drill press)
- Ability to read schematics and work from work orders
- CMMS experience (MaintainX, Maximo, SAP PM, Fiix, or similar)
- Welding experience preferred
- VFD or PLC troubleshooting exposure
- Chemical, CPG, or food-grade manufacturing background (preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force (up to 1/3 of the time)
- Frequently applying 10 to 25 pounds of force (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time)
- Regularly required to handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds throughout the shift (2/3 or more of the time) for moving objects
- Must have the ability to perform the following: Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Handling
- Must be able to visually inspect parts and hear audible alarms and equipment signals, with or without accommodation
Pay
This position has an hourly pay rate of $38.00 per hour, plus shift differential for applicable shifts.
Schedule
2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays.
