About the Role
Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and/or replacement of plant equipment and systems to ensure maximum production and quality while supporting company policies, goals, and objectives. Additionally, oversees the organization and inventory stocking of the plant storeroom.
Responsibilities
- Plans and directs maintenance activities to ensure effective operations and cost efficiency.
- Coordinates problem resolution related to equipment failure or operating issues.
- Maintains high operational standards to ensure products conform to customer and company quality requirements.
- Ensures accurate maintenance records, analyzes results, and implements improvements.
- Oversees the implementation of CMMS software within the Maintenance department.
- Initiates, coordinates, and executes maintenance-related projects while supporting continuous improvement.
- Manages maintenance expenses effectively and communicates regularly with personnel across shifts.
- Conducts employee performance reviews to assess competency, knowledge, and development needs.
- Formulates and recommends maintenance policies and programs to improve competitiveness and profitability.
- Manages staffing, training, and overhead in the maintenance department.
- Ensures facility compliance with federal, state, local, or corporate regulations.
- Consults with Human Resources, Food/Feed Safety, Safety, and Environmental departments as needed.
- Promotes a customer service attitude when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Enforces safety, health, environmental, and food/feed safety policies and procedures.
- Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages multiple direct reports within the facility.
- Oversees interviewing, selecting, and training employees; assigns and directs work; appraises performance; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree from a two-year college in a related technical field or a certificate/diploma from a trade school (preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility.
- Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience in a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer (preferred).

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb (up to 125 feet), and work in confined spaces while harnessed.
- Use of stairs and ladders is required.
- Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds or more.
- Works in both office and production environments.
- Production environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, outdoor conditions, electrical hazards, vibration, toxic/caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
- Requires the use of a respirator.
