Maintenance Manager (Master Mechanic, Multi-Site Travel) - NWI

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage maintenance operations across multiple U.S. sites, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance of all equipment and facilities.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Serve as a Mast Mechanic to train, mentor, and support local maintenance staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and technical excellence.
  • Partner with site managers and operations leadership to prioritize and execute maintenance initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements across all locations.
  • Track and report maintenance metrics, budgets, and performance data to leadership. Prepare daily, weekly, & monthly reports of all the production activities and respond to information requests from site, division, and corporate teams.
  • Travel to company sites across the U.S. (estimated 50–75% travel required) to provide direct support, training, and leadership.
  • Comply with cost savings initiatives, identify, and recognize ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue, including treating any company expenses the same as you would if it was your own money.
  • Function as part of the management team and align with core values to meet company policies and goals, escalating and reporting issues that require further assistance as appropriate.
  • Plan, participate and actively contribute to internal and external business meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of maintenance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership/managerial role.
  • Certified Master Mechanic or equivalent expertise strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with hands-on repair experience.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills; proven ability to train and mentor technical teams.
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets, projects, and contractors.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively across the U.S. (must have valid driver’s license and passport for potential international support if needed).
  • Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Preferred

  • Experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, or multi-site operations.
  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) proficiency.
  • Lean/TPM or reliability-centered maintenance background.
