Maintenance Manager- LIHTC Property

About the role

Highland Property Management, Inc. (Highland), a property management subsidiary of Summit Management Group, Inc. (Summit), is a growing family of companies headquartered in Western Montana. Highland specializes in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) developments, with mixed-income units joining the portfolio in 2018. Summit has built, been awarded, or has under construction 32 LIHTC properties (1,646 units) across Colorado, Montana, Idaho, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. The Summit family of companies handles all aspects of development, including site selection, finance and investor relations, construction, and ongoing property management.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on, light construction work and custodial functions
• Manage work orders and ensure proactive property maintenance
• Exceed resident expectations through responsive service
• Provide on-call availability as required

Requirements

• 5 years of apartment maintenance experience or equivalent
• Carpentry: remodel and repair work
• Plumbing
• Household electrical
• Exterior building maintenance
• Custodial work for units to be move-in ready
• Implement an appropriate preventative maintenance (PM) schedule
• 5 years of direct customer service experience with residential or other clients
• 2 years of experience working with outside contractors to ensure remodel and/or warranty work meets expectations
• Ability to estimate time and extent of repairs
• Organizational skills for maintaining material and supply inventories
• Professionalism with coworkers and residents while working in and around apartment complexes
• Strict adherence to confidentiality policies according to resident rights regulations and courtesy
• Computer skills for completing and recording work order information

Qualifications

• Certification or apprenticeship in maintenance (e.g., electrical, plumbing, carpentry)
• HVAC Certification preferred or ability to achieve certification with financial assistance
• Management experience
