About the Role
Pyramid Healthcare, a leader in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the safety, upkeep, and overall functionality of our Newport News residential facility. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll help ensure that both clients and staff have a safe, comfortable environment as they focus on recovery.
Schedule
Full-Time, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with on-call responsibilities on rotating weekends
Pay
Up to $29.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily maintenance and housekeeping operations, ensuring the facility remains clean, safe, and fully operational.
- Lead, mentor, and support maintenance and housekeeping staff to ensure timely, high-quality work.
- Conduct regular daily, weekly, and monthly inspections to proactively identify and address maintenance needs.
- Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies, including off-hours situations.
- Coordinate with approved vendors and contractors for repairs and services.
- Ensure compliance with Building, NFPA, CARF, and Life Safety Codes, as well as applicable state and local regulations.
- Participate in the Safety Committee, update the Safety Handbook, and help ensure staff training on safety policies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports and complete required trainings.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive environment for staff and clients through reliable, high-quality facility care.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Hands-on experience in building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, structural, and HVAC systems.
- Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills, with the ability to respond quickly to urgent issues.
- Ability to supervise staff and collaborate effectively with team members, vendors, and contractors.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Comfortable working in a residential treatment environment, which may include exposure to viruses or infections. PPE is provided.
