Maintenance Manager

About the Role

The Maintenance Manager directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, as well as maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems within a metals service industrial plant.

Responsibilities

• Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
• Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
• Directly supervises employees in the maintenance department, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
• Develops preventive maintenance programs in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
• Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
• Inspects operating machines for conformance with operational standards.
• Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.

• 480/220 Electric Motor Troubleshooting / installation.
• Troubleshooting pressurized hydraulic pumps / valves / control systems.
• Troubleshooting PC / CNC / Automated control units.
• Experience with troubleshooting metal working equipment preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a maintenance management position.
• Experience in a metals service centers industry preferred.
