Maintenance Manager
About the role
The Maintenance Manager oversees maintenance operations within the plant, ensuring all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems operate efficiently. They provide leadership to the maintenance team, manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs, troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision: Lead, manage, and mentor the maintenance team; develop and implement work schedules, allocate tasks, and monitor job performance; foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Maintenance Management: Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs; develop and manage an equipment maintenance plan; troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment failures; lead projects aimed at improving reliability and safety of plant systems.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements; conduct safety audits and assessments; lead investigations into accidents or incidents related to maintenance activities.
Budget & Resource Management: Develop and manage the maintenance budget; track expenses and performance metrics to ensure cost-effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance practices and operations; implement new technologies, systems, and processes to improve maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment performance; prepare and submit regular reports on maintenance activities, budget performance, and equipment condition.
Project Management: Lead or support major maintenance projects; coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers for special maintenance or repair projects.
Requirements
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Proven experience in managing maintenance teams, budgets, and large-scale projects.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of industrial equipment, maintenance practices, and safety standards.
Proficiency with maintenance management software (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights to improve maintenance operations.
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; degree in engineering or related field preferred.
