Responsibilities
- Planning and Strategy:
- Developing maintenance strategies
- Creating comprehensive plans for preventative maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
- Managing the maintenance budget, forecasting costs, and controlling spending
- Proposing and justifying capital expenditure for major equipment purchases or upgrades
- Prioritizing and assigning maintenance tasks to ensure timely completion and optimal resource utilization
- Supervision and Management:
- Team leadership: Supervising and developing maintenance staff, providing training and support
- Performance management: Evaluating team member performance, providing feedback, and implementing improvement plans
- Contract management: Negotiating and managing contracts with external vendors for equipment maintenance and repairs
- Operations and Maintenance:
- Ensuring compliance: Adhering to all relevant safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving: Identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions, implementing repairs, and preventing future issues
- Quality control: Ensuring that all maintenance work is performed to the required standards and specifications
- Record-keeping: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs
- Continuous Improvement:
- Process optimization: Regularly reviewing and improving maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Technology adoption: Exploring and implementing new technologies to improve maintenance operations
- Safety initiatives: Promoting a culture of safety within the maintenance department, implementing safety training programs, and enforcing safety protocols
