Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Maintenance Manager oversees the supervision and maintenance of the Camarillo facility, including greenhouses, service buildings, packaging facilities, boiler rooms, and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the research and development of new projects.
• Plan yearly maintenance tasks for all facility assets.
• Manage spare parts and material inventory.
• Respond to and prioritize maintenance requests from various departments.
• Anticipate repairs and replacements for facility assets.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for machinery and mechanical systems.
• Supervise external vendors and contractors.
• Assist in the development of the maintenance budget.
• Participate in weekly site maintenance meetings.
• Coordinate jobs and facilitate materials purchasing through Maintenance workflow procedures.
• Manage and ensure the implementation of safety protocols in the maintenance department.
• Ensure all employees operate maintenance machinery safely and within compliance requirements.
• Plan employee shifts to ensure emergency coverage.
• Assist in managing day-to-day operational issues in the Greenhouse and Packhouse departments.
• Propose ideas and solutions to mitigate operational issues.
• Maintain and adhere to worksite safety, food safety, hygiene protocols, and compliance standards.
• Assist in establishing group objectives and priorities.
• Ensure employees follow established policies and procedures while encouraging quality and continuous improvement.
• Determine staffing requirements, work assignments, and schedules.
• Manage recruitment of maintenance employees, including interviewing and selection.
• Oversee ongoing training and development of the Maintenance team.
• Monitor and mentor employees while providing feedback.
• Manage performance evaluations, promotions, and termination activities.
