Responsibilities
- Maintain and continually improve machine uptime and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) per company norms.
- Ensure employees and equipment safety as the first priority; follow Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines.
- Troubleshoot equipment and machinery to enable smooth production operations.
- Coordinate with production staff and provide required support to achieve company objectives.
- Install and maintain machinery and equipment.
- Oversee work performed by outside contractors as necessary.
- Maintain records and chart trends per standard operating procedures and the Quality Management System.
- Ensure departmental compliance with company policies, including safety regulations.
- Responsible for facility maintenance and assist in managing expansion projects.
- Schedule and perform preventative and predictive maintenance; keep related records.
- Train, direct, develop, supervise, and periodically evaluate subordinates.
- Ensure compliance with environmental standards and the IATF 16949 Quality System standard.
- Direct and complete all emergency repairs of plant equipment as necessary.
- Maintain good housekeeping (5S requirements) at all times.
- Coordinate with the purchase department for required spares, tooling, and supplies.
- Maintain critical spare parts inventory for machinery.
- Motivate employees and encourage total involvement in their jobs; gather suggestions for improvement.
- Achieve departmental objectives, including continual improvements in Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
- Take appropriate corrective action for any safety, maintenance, and process issues.
- Participate in daily production meetings and take required actions based on meeting outcomes.
- Follow standard practices and all government regulations relating to powered equipment.
- Manage installation of new machines, relocation of old machines, and execute new plant layouts.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in maintaining and improving machine uptime and OEE.
- Strong commitment to employee and equipment safety; knowledge of HSE guidelines.
- Proven troubleshooting skills for equipment and machinery.
- Ability to coordinate with production staff and provide support to achieve company objectives.
- Experience in installation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Ability to oversee work performed by outside contractors.
- Proficiency in maintaining records and charting trends per standard operating procedures and Quality Management Systems.
