About the role
We’re looking for a Maintenance Manager to oversee the daily inventory activity of our Distribution Center in Pittston Township, Pennsylvania. This new facility processes and distributes primarily apparel and footwear with the latest in high-tech material handling and storage equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain locations of AMER leased facilities in the Pittston, PA area (GM 460 Research Drive, Pittston, PA).
- Purchase warehouse shipping supplies, including boxes, labels, tape, packing supplies, computer supplies, and office supplies, ensuring proper inventory at all times.
- Ensure proper security at all Pittston facilities, working directly with outside security companies and serving as the first contact for emergency calls from security monitoring companies.
- Maintain security fobs for employees and ensure a secure and safe work environment.
- Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas of the warehouse, office, and supply chain, hiring outside cleaning services as needed.
- Maintain the Exotec automated picking retrieval system, Packsize carton making system, and all smart conveyors.
- Hire and train a maintenance team for repair, maintenance, and preventive maintenance, ensuring at least one technician is on-site at all times the system is running to meet production schedules.
- Collaborate with building owners and outside contractors on building leases and maintenance.
- Schedule monthly and yearly maintenance for buildings and contracted equipment to ensure a safe and legal work environment.
- Plan and coordinate installations and refurbishments, working directly with outside contractors and coordinating schedules to minimize interruptions.
- Coach and train employees on maintenance responsibilities.
- Train and schedule all forklift operators for safety and equipment damage prevention.
Requirements
- 2+ years of progressive experience in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution operation with automation.
- 2+ years of prior experience managing a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; focus on supply chain, logistics, or related operational fields preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience with facility maintenance and management (warehouse or distribution center experience a plus).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Mechanical skills preferred.
- Dedicated attention to detail and highly organized.
- Progressive experience in warehouse automation technologies.
- Experience in the sporting goods industry a plus.
- Formal education or equivalent experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or related fields.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
- Basic business finance knowledge.
- Knowledge of SAP WMS a plus.

Schedule
This is a full-time, on-site, exempt position requiring a flexible, operations-based schedule. Hours are driven by leadership expectations and departmental needs, rather than a fixed standard shift. Must be available for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift coverage, including weekends and holidays. Extended hours, early mornings, evenings, and additional shifts may be required.

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is $80,000 - $95,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. This range reflects base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
