Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure efficient and safe operation of machines, equipment, and systems.
- Design and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance plans, including routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and coolant procedures.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions, coordinate repairs, and oversee timely completion of corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other system issues, utilizing outside contractors as needed.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment for maintenance activities.
- Track maintenance costs, manage spare parts inventory, and optimize maintenance spend within budget.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and report monthly metrics.
- Manage relationships with outside vendors for equipment repairs, maintenance contracts, and parts procurement.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repair logs, inspection reports, and work orders.
- Identify opportunities to optimize maintenance processes, implement new technologies, and enhance equipment reliability.
- Coordinate installation of new equipment and removal of existing equipment as required.
- Maintain power consumption data for all equipment and update the Arc flash safety program annually.
- Review maintenance personnel skill sets annually and suggest additional training needs for professional growth.
- Assist in the selection and installation of new or replacement equipment.
- Participate in risk assessments for the department and the company-wide management review process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance role, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory position.
Skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with understanding of industrial machinery and systems.
- Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in manufacturing.
- Leadership and supervisory skills to manage a team of technicians effectively.
- Problem-solving and diagnostic abilities to analyze and resolve equipment issues.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with production teams on timelines and schedules.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and online CMMS systems.
Physical Demands
- Standing for more than 1 hour.
- Walking more than 100 feet.
- Reaching above, at, or below shoulders.
- Climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and/or squatting.
- Grasping and hand/wrist twisting.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
