About the role

Superior Metal Technologies is looking for a manufacturing Maintenance Manager to handle all aspects of maintenance in our 120,000 square foot paint and anodizing facility. In this position the right person will be able to plan, execute and assign work, implement policies and procedures and recommends improvements in methods, equipment, procedures and working conditions. This position drives continuous improvement through the plant operation and may lead others as necessary to maintain a high level of morale.

Responsibilities

  • Balance safety, quality, cost, productivity and achieving positive results in all areas, with safety always the top priority
  • Demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment and safety and health management program
  • Evaluate systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed and complete these tasks or coordinate with contractors/vendors as needed
  • Properly operate power tools and associated equipment
  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Daily breakdown repairs of equipment
  • Prioritize work based upon manufacturing production needs
  • On call for after hours as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Five plus years of experience with maintenance leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Previous supervision experience required
  • Proven knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Experience with preventative maintenance
  • Willingness to be a hands-on leader
  • Self-starter – ability to work independently and strive for constant improvement
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment
  • Strong knowledge of overhead crane systems
  • Able to program and troubleshoot PLC control systems
  • Welding aluminum and steel experience
  • Strong knowledge of electrical AC and DC, single phase and 3 phase - 480V, 277V, 240V, 120V, 24V, 12V
  • Proper operation of cutting torch
  • Rebuild and troubleshooting pumps (centrifugal and diaphragm)
  • Troubleshooting and repair hydraulics
  • Troubleshooting electrical issues with and without prints
  • Troubleshooting mechanical issues with and without prints
  • Experience in an aluminum finishing environment highly desired

Physical demands and abilities

  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to operate and inspect machinery and metal pieces
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs; occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to position self to move metal objects for treatment or packing
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus
  • Must be able to detect slight differences in various finishes
  • Communicate verbally with coworkers about safety, discrepancy, or variety of other work issues
  • Tolerate working in an environment that may be hot or cold depending on the season and will expose you to loud sounds, dust, fumes and solvents

Pay

$75,000 – $100,000 per year

Day shift, Monday to Friday
