Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and control internal and external plant security, maintenance, and machine rebuild/repair functions to minimize downtime and maximize manufacturing efficiency
• Continuously improve processes and products
• Direct and control security levels for the manufacturing plant and warehouse facilities
• Oversee all building maintenance (internal and external) to ensure operations and equipment exceed production and profit objectives
• Direct the movement and installation of machinery and equipment safely and efficiently with minimal disruption to plant operations
• Monitor plant needs for machine parts, determining whether parts should be purchased or manufactured in-house
• Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program for machines, equipment, company vehicles, and lift trucks, including complete file maintenance for each
• Ensure all permits and licenses for building, equipment, and vehicles are properly procured and displayed
• Maintain optimum inventory levels of supplies and materials for rebuild and maintenance departments, prioritizing quality and cost efficiency
• Develop and implement programs to improve and upgrade machines and parts, extending intervals between rebuilds
• Collaborate with manufacturing departments to improve machine feeding methods

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• 3–5 years of successful maintenance supervision or management, preferably in a multi-shift facility
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with machine rebuild and general maintenance functions
• Proven problem-solving ability

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-high school education
• Previous maintenance experience in the fastener industry
• Electrical and/or plumbing skills
• Lean Manufacturing or similar training and experience
