Overview and Responsibilities
- Cook up assigned facility projects and maintenance activities.
- Support preventive maintenance programs and monitor completion of scheduled tasks.
- Conduct facility assessments and identify maintenance, safety, and compliance concerns.
- Aid in Joint Commission, Physical Environment, Life Safety, OSHA, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Review work orders and assist with prioritizing maintenance activities.
- Cook service activities with vendors and contractors as assigned.
- Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, inventories, and related documentation.
- Aid in emergency preparedness, weather response, and facility recovery activities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Facilities Technicians.
- Participate in on-call rotations as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience Required
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; trade certification preferred.
- Three to five years of facilities, maintenance, or building operations experience.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and building systems.
- Experience working with vendors and contractors preferred.
- A valid driver's license required (MO residents require a Class E).
Skills and Competencies Required
- Demonstrates the ability to correctly identify, diagnose, and perform basic repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance systems with minimal rework required.
- Accurately identifies root causes of maintenance issues and resolves them within expected timeframes, escalating only when appropriate.
- Reads technical documents accurately and interprets blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical instructions to complete tasks without errors or safety risks.
- Prioritizes work orders, manages time effectively, and completes assigned tasks by deadlines while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Enters work orders, updates maintenance records, and uses Microsoft Office and CMMS tools accurately and consistently.
- Provides clear written updates, completes documentation without omissions, and communicates effectively with staff, vendors, and supervisors.
- Completes assigned tasks without direct supervision, contributes to team goals, and collaborates effectively during multi-person projects or emergency responses.
