Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment individually and coach mechanics during downtime to resolve mechanical issues.
  • Collaborate with the operations department to foster teamwork and combine expertise for company success.
  • Define project priorities and provide direction to the maintenance staff.
  • Monitor team performance and audit activities to ensure quality work and goal achievement.
  • Provide leadership, set expectations, and give routine feedback aligned with business objectives.
  • Support the PDCA process, including problem statement, root cause analysis, and countermeasure implementation.
  • Work with improvement teams to identify and implement reliability enhancements through procedure and equipment upgrades.
  • Develop, post, and communicate procedures/processes supporting maintenance strategies.
  • Utilize preventive and predictive maintenance techniques to minimize equipment breakdowns.
  • Provide electrical and mechanical troubleshooting leadership, including working with 110V to 480V circuits.
  • Maintain and improve the plant’s preventive maintenance (PM) program, reviewing completion rates and quality.
  • Assist in selecting new hires and support technical training for the maintenance staff.
  • Understand line control, bottle flow, and can flow to balance production pace.
  • Analyze data to set productivity targets and communicate measures.
  • Demonstrate ability to repair all plant machinery and troubleshoot common electrical failures.
  • Fabricate steps, supports, brackets, and structures as needed.
  • Train new employees and provide guidance in assigned work areas.
  • Lead by example, provide positive recognition, and offer feedback on performance.
  • Lead and support the Maintenance Mechanic Team, ensuring a safe and legal work environment.
  • Establish and communicate food safety and quality objectives, empowering employees to resolve issues.
  • Ensure staffing and resources meet food safety and quality objectives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience with progressive responsibility.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required; College degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience using a PC and business information systems/software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to direct, coach, and train others.
  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the food/beverage industry.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience in report writing.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Work in a typical office setting, drive a motor vehicle, and occasionally work in the field.
  • Frequent: sitting, neck flexion, fine finger dexterity, keyboard/mouse use, walking, standing, bending, pushing/pulling, twisting, moderate wrist torque.
  • Occasional: squatting, kneeling, reaching, moderate grasp, lifting up to 50 lbs., transporting objects.
  • Vision and hearing within normal range with or without correction.
