Maintenance Helper
About the role
The maintenance department at Karman Space & Defense relies heavily on an experienced helper to ensure industry-leading service. This position is essential for supporting the Quality Policy and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and realize AS 9100 procedures and continuous improvement efforts
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Assist in the Preventive Maintenance program (PM)
- Assist in maintaining the facility and manufacturing equipment in good operating manner
- Assist in maintaining the tools in good operating manner
- Understand how customer products are impacted in the event of failure
- Perform general clean-ups in support of a clean and safe work environment
- Explain the respective role within the QMS and how their role contributes to quality
- Aware of ethical behavior and conduct themselves accordingly to Karman policies and procedures
Requirements
- Detail-oriented, extremely organized, possesses good communication skills, and can interact with Management and staff
- Able to work with standard maintenance tools
- Able to lift 25 lbs
- Able to communicate directly with internal customers
- Trained of applicable changes & customer requirements
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent in work experience

Physical Requirements
- Constant standing/walking/sitting for at least 8 hours
- Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 lbs, minimum 35 lbs
- Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment
- Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less. Corrective lenses may be worn to fulfill requirement
- Prolonged periods of repetitive movement are required
- Constant holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s)
- Occasional extending of arms to reach overhead, at shoulder level and below shoulder level
Work Environment
This position operates in a warehouse/shop/manufacturing environment.
