Maintenance Grounds Keeper

About the role

Under general supervision, maintain AISD grounds in an appearance of excellence to include, but not limited to: mowing, trimming and picking up of trash.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: A high school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Certification / License: Valid Driver's License, preferred
• Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • General knowledge of landscape maintenance.
  • General knowledge of the Maintenance Departments organization and operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision.
  • Must have demonstrated organizational, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
  • Demonstrated general knowledge associated with given craft.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Minimum Experience: One year experience of lawn maintenance or related field is preferred.

Work Conditions

Mental Demands: Frequent changes in tasks; Irregular work hours / schedule

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

• Must be able to work in all weather conditions, both day and night.
• Some exposure to hazardous chemicals/fuels
• High noise level exposure is frequent
• Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to repair and/or move equipment and objects.
• Position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping and moving of objects.
• Regular attendance is an essential function.

Pay

Salary: $13.48 per hour
