About the role

The Loom Maintenance Technician (LMT) is responsible for the overall condition and operation of the machines on their assigned team lay-out, maintaining their condition with the lowest possible supply cost, and to produce a maximum quality of fabric, at a minimum loss of efficiency. This includes tasks such as flag fixing, blowing off reeds, setting up TPM looms, setting doffs, aligning nozzles, and starting new warps/tie backs. The LMT will also cover sand drums and rollers, change cutter blades, input/receive data from Barco, activate warp change with Barco interactive warp entry, monitor the high loom stop program, write requisitions for needed loom parts, and assist weavers during breaks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and service assigned set of looms
  • Perform flag fixing, blowing off reeds, setting up TPM looms, setting doffs, aligning nozzles, and starting new warps/tie backs
  • Use trouble shooting methods to maintain the highest quality
  • Lubricate loom parts on a regular basis
  • Maintain proper loom specifications and verify controlled SOC on looms
  • Cover sand drums and rollers, change cutter blades, input/receive data from Barco, activate warp change with Barco interactive warp entry, and monitor the high loom stop program
  • Write requisitions for needed loom parts and work orders for electricians
  • Assist weavers to take breaks

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should have:

  • At least 2 years of experience in loom maintenance or similar field
  • Knowledge of loom operation and troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience with Barco systems and other relevant machinery
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
