Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Monitor and address work order statuses as assigned.
• Prioritize and respond to issues in a timely manner.
• Complete projects including work in remodeling, light carpentry, general repairs, painting, tile work, lighting, refrigeration, etc.
• Aware of and ensure compliance with city, state, and federal codes.
• Prep areas and apply interior paint, sanding, wallpaper application/repair, and basic furniture and equipment repair.
• Maintain guest rooms, restaurant, and public areas to company standards.
• Communicate shift details to Manager and Front Office/Housekeeping based on work order completion and progress.
• Maintain continuous communication with Front Office during all shifts to ensure all complaints are addressed.
• Have a thorough understanding of fire alarm procedures, emergency evacuation procedures, and all safety-related issues.
• Maintain safe and clear exterior walking areas including landscaping, waste removal, and snow/ice management.
• Ensure facilities buildings, workspaces, and company vehicles are clean, safe, and organized.
• Use safe work practices daily. Report any unsafe areas to Director of Engineering.
• Work effectively with other maintenance personnel in a positive, professional manner.
• Work with professionalism and high standards of guest services and quality of work.
• Assist Maintenance Manager with additional assigned tasks and projects.

Qualifications

• General maintenance or handy work experience with a well-rounded skill set including basic carpentry, painting, and household repairs.
• Experience in a hotel or resort setting a plus.
• Flexible availability to work flexible hours based on business needs including weekdays and weekends.
• Sincere enthusiasm for the role and passion for maintenance.
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion.
• Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused while maintaining hospitality.
