Maintenance Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Operations staff and other departments to ensure all campus areas are maintained to high standards.
• Monitor building access control and HVAC systems and respond to identified issues.
• Cook up preventive maintenance and work performed by outside contractors and vendors.
• Schedule and maintain the campus irrigation system.
• Maintain school vehicles and help ensure their safe operation.
• Manage maintenance requests and ensure they are addressed in a timely and orderly manner.
• Support events outside normal business hours and work overtime when necessary.
• Aid in the setup and teardown of equipment for campus events.
• Respond to emergency calls and participate in the on-call system.
• Participate in professional growth opportunities.
• Coordinate day-to-day work with other members of the Operations Department.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel, and the ability to use other job-related software.
• Ability to work outside normal business hours, work overtime as needed, and participate in an on-call rotation.
• PREFERRED: Experience working in an educational setting. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs): Working knowledge of building maintenance practices, preventive maintenance, access control, HVAC, irrigation, snow removal, and vehicle upkeep. Ability to diagnose routine maintenance issues and complete repairs safely and efficiently. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple work requests. Clear, professional communication and a service-oriented approach when working with campus occupants, contractors, and colleagues. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of the Operations Department. Sound judgment and responsiveness during emergencies and after-hours calls.
