Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer assists with the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of equipment, participates in the preventative maintenance program, handles guest requests and work orders, and performs trade jobs such as carpentry, painting, and plumbing in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms, including vinyl repair, touch-up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, and tile repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, swimming pools, and hot tubs.
• Perform plumbing repairs, laundry equipment repairs, and preventative maintenance on exhaust fans and supply systems; monitor energy conservation.
• Repair vacuum cleaners and other small equipment as requested.
• Immediately follow up on alarms to determine location and cause, assess emergency status, and report findings to the Front Desk.
• Access back-of-house areas and sensitive information, including the Hotel Safe, Master Keys, guestrooms, Storage/Liquor Room, and secured file cabinets.
• Interact with guests and colleagues, occasionally without supervision.
• Drive safely on behalf of the company for business purposes.
• Maintain a high level of trust, responsibility, and sound judgment while representing the company with professionalism and good character.
• Perform other tasks or jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
