Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer assists with the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of assigned equipment. They participate in the preventative maintenance program, handle guest requests and work orders, and perform trade jobs such as carpentry, painting, and plumbing in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment
• Change light bulbs and perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms, including vinyl repair, touch-up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, and tile repairs
• Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, swimming pool, and hot tub
• Conduct plumbing repairs, laundry equipment repairs, and preventative maintenance on exhaust fans and supply systems
• Monitor energy conservation and repair vacuum cleaners and other small equipment as requested
• Immediately follow up on alarms to determine location and cause, assess emergency status, and report findings to the Front Desk
• Perform other tasks or jobs as assigned by a supervisor or manager
• Access back-of-house areas and sensitive information with a high level of trust and responsibility
• Interact with guests and colleagues, occasionally without supervision
• Maintain control of sensitive areas, including the Hotel Safe, Master Keys, guestrooms, Storage/Liquor Room, and secured file cabinets
• Drive safely on behalf of the company for business purposes
• Uphold the company’s reputation through professional conduct and sound judgment
