About the role

Maintenance Engineer responsible for providing technical and maintenance services throughout the hotel to keep general equipment and systems in excellent condition. Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner while complying with Peachtree Hospitality Management Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building remains in good condition.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain hotel quality standards.
  • Check and repair electrical systems including air conditioning controls, television sets, and lighting systems; make minor repairs and/or replacements.
  • Assist in routine and major repairs of hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools, and general plumbing systems and fixtures (e.g., pipelines, toilets, sinks).
  • Service the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals, cleaning filters, completing maintenance request forms, and recording logs.
  • Maintain the building exterior and "curb appeal" (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, trash removal, and gardening).
  • Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters; paint and finish as needed.
  • Respond courteously to guest questions, complaints, and requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
  • Operate heavy machinery.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
  • Assemble, install, and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
  • Perform maintenance work orders in a timely manner to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate with other departments regarding guest room conditions.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas and storage rooms.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Attend all required training and meetings as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of all department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by scheduling, which varies according to hotel needs.
  • Communicate and enforce all policies fairly and consistently with staff.
