Maintenance Support Engineer

WGHP/FOX 8 is looking for a Maintenance Support Engineer to join the Engineering Department. This role involves expanding career opportunities in broadcast television, focusing on network and infrastructure support at WGHP.

MAJOR PURPOSE

• Maintain and repair technical equipment and computer-based systems associated with WGHP's operations.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical equipment essential for WGHP's operation.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electronic and mechanical equipment.
• Work with the Engineering Staff to ensure optimal operation of the station, adhering to FCC and FAA rules and regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to maintain and operate their associated equipment.
• Prioritize repair and replacement of equipment based on need.
• Have in-depth knowledge of computer networking, cabling, and repairs.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Understand the operation of WGHP's broadcast air-chain.
• Have working knowledge of Bonded Cellular, ENG, SNG, and RF microwave systems.
• Be familiar with FCC and FAA rules and regulations.
• Use and know specialized and standard test equipment.
• Have advanced computer skills.
• Be available for "on call" status during emergencies or critical equipment failures.
• Manage and update the spare parts inventory and order replacement parts as needed.
• Make decisions and act promptly when necessary.
• Work independently and unsupervised when needed.
• Show attention to detail and maintain accuracy.
• Teach the operation of some technical equipment to other departments within WGHP.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2-3 years' work experience in the maintenance and repair of computer, networking, and commercial television equipment.
