Maintenance Engineer

6-month minimum contract at £30.15 per hour on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern (overtime available).

Responsibilities

• Provide reactive breakdown support to minimise disruption.
• Execute planned and preventative maintenance activities.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using drawings, diagnostics, and equipment history.
• Identify and rectify recurring equipment faults, including implementation of permanent corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and uptime.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
• Assist with machinery modifications, upgrades, and repair works as required.
• Deliver all services in compliance with site health, safety, and food hygiene standards.

Requirements

• Time-served engineer or demonstrable equivalent industry experience.
• Multi-skilled capabilities with proven experience in FMCG manufacturing environments.
• Experience working with:
  • 3-phase electrical systems
  • Motors, drives, inverters, and safety circuits
  • I/O PLC fault-finding (Siemens / Allen Bradley or similar)
  • Automated food production and packaging equipment
• Able to work with minimal direction, managing workload and priorities independently.
• Strong communication skills when liaising with site stakeholders.
