Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) and other equipment throughout the hotel.
- Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis (e.g., “room care”).
- Service the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals, cleaning filters, completing maintenance request forms, and recording logs.
- Maintain the building exterior and “curb appeal” (e.g., lawn care, painting, and gardening).
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and security rules.
- Follow department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
- Utilize protective equipment and report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, or property damage to supervisor.
- Provide a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as outlined in the team member handbook.
- Assist other Engineering Personnel as needed.
- Perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
Requirements
- Knowledge of all maintenance trades, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment.
- Ability to recognize potential safety hazards and security problems in the hotel and act accordingly.
- Willingness to comply with hotel policies and procedures, including appearance, grooming, safety, security, and emergency procedures.
- Skills in several areas such as HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywalling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair routine mechanical and electrical malfunctions in hotel systems and equipment.
- Skill in the use of basic hand and electric tools, with familiarity with parts and materials.
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or relevant training/experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of the building layout, including sleeping and function rooms.

- Ability to listen, speak, read, and write English clearly for interaction with guests and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit continuously to perform essential job functions for the duration of the shift.
- Must be able to work in hot, cold, and wet conditions and stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb on various surfaces.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders rapidly, up to 30 feet in the air.
- Grasping, lifting, and holding tools with good finger dexterity.
- Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances within and between buildings on the property.
- Lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds.
- Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
