Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain hotel quality standards
• Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis (e.g., "room care")
• Check and repair electrical systems, including air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and other minor repairs or replacements
• Assist in routine and major repairs of hotel equipment, including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools, and plumbing systems (pipelines, toilets, sinks, etc.)
• Service the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals, cleaning filters, completing maintenance request forms, and recording logs
• Maintain the building exterior and "curb appeal" (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening)
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms, such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters
• Paint and finish furniture and fixtures as needed
• Respond courteously to guest questions, complaints, and requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to communicate in English
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
• Strong guest communication skills
• Willingness to assist co-workers and work as a team player
• Ability to climb, read, stand, walk, and routinely lift 25–50 lbs
• Ability to receive instructions and communicate work progress
• Exposure to extreme temperatures and operation of heavy machinery
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
