About the role

The Maintenance Engineer reports to the Director of Facilities and possesses the diverse knowledge of electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire + safety, HVAC and refrigeration. This position is required to be hands-on and dives into the day-to-day operation, service and repairs of hotel equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold and model the company’s principles of People, Place and Character to ensure the experiences of translocal hospitality, intuitive service and collaboration
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other associates by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working environment
  • Handle routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public spaces, event space, outlets, back of house spaces and grounds
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the hotel’s safety systems and takes corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems which affect the security or operating condition of the hotel
  • Participate in the room preventative maintenance program
  • Communicate with the Director of Facilities on projects as assigned
  • Respond to all guest requests in a timely and personable manner

Requirements

  • Minimum of (2) two years of experience in building maintenance; previous experience as a hotel engineer preferred or comparable experience at an establishment such as apartment complex or office building
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or the willingness to obtain it
  • Basic knowledge of refrigeration systems, electricity, HVAC and plumbing, certifications are a plus
  • Proficiency in the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication
  • Ability to sit, bend, climb stairs, stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to regularly work a full-time set schedule of approximately 40 hours/week
  • Ability to work in a dog friendly work environment

Schedule

Apart from the above, the role requires a full-time set schedule of approximately 40 hours/week.
