Maintenance Electrician

General Statement of Responsibilities

• Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Repairs and maintains electrical switchboards, panels, and other apparatus utilizing electricity.
• Tests malfunctioning machinery to diagnose malfunctioning equipment.
• Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices.
• Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
• Replaces electric motor bearings and reconnects motors.
• Pushes buttons and presses keys on teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery to test for malfunctions and to verify repairs.
• Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
• Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic electrical components of machines and equipment.
• Supports the Plant quality systems goals/improvements & productivity goals/improvements within the scope of the job.
• Supports the Plant safety programs/goals within the scope of the job.
• Ensures regular and predictable attendance.
• Complies with 5S (Sort, Shine, Set in Order, Standardize, and Sustain).

Education

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school.
• Two years related experience and/or training.
• Completion of any formalized training courses as identified by Department Supervisor/Facilities Engineering Manager.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear.
• Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifts and/or moves more than 100 pounds.
• Exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
• Variable and can be very loud noise level in the work environment.

Requirements

• Starting Wage: Base starting wage is $23.30-$32.54/an hour.
