Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance, testing, and installation of LV/MV electrical equipment.
- Install, maintain, and test AC/DC Motors and Motor Controls (Across the line, Soft Start, VFD).
- Maintain and test switchgear, transformers, load break switches, distribution equipment, fuses, power circuit breakers, load centers, and breaker panels.
- Perform wiring, terminations, and grounding systems.
- Use a range of electrical test instruments including Megger, DLRO, Tic Tracer, DVOM, Clamp Amps, 4-20Ma Signal Generators, Sensor Calibrators, etc.
- Oversee maintenance and testing of low/medium voltage equipment.
- Perform equipment inspections, maintenance tasks, and assigned project work.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment, controls, and wiring to detect malfunctions.
- Discuss machine operations with production and maintenance personnel to diagnose problems.
- Dismantle defective equipment, repair, and install parts to bring the equipment back into service.
- Read electrical diagrams and manuals required to install and troubleshoot electrical and control equipment.
- Set up and operate shop and portable tools.
- Install, test, and maintain motors and gearboxes, as well as perform laser coupling alignments.
- Support the effort to maximize equipment availability to Production Department.
- Ensure electrical safety guidelines and procedures for electrical work are compliant with NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E and Company Safety Regulations.
- Work with metal-clad switchgear, air/vacuum breakers, transformers, panels, and wiring.
- Perform electric motor maintenance and testing (windings, rotor, bearings, etc.).
- Ensure the electrical work conforms to the standards and guidelines established in the ISO 9002 quality assurance manual.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid State Electrical License.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience with LV/MV electrical equipment, including motors, transformers, and switchgear.
- Knowledge of electrical test instruments and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
