About the role

Axion Aerospace is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Electrician to join our Facilities Department at our Rockmart location. The role plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our aerospace and defense manufacturing facility by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams
  • Conducting routine inspections of electrical systems
  • Installing and maintaining wiring, control, and lighting systems
  • Inspecting electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers
  • Identifying electrical problems using a variety of testing devices
  • Repairing or replacing wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools
  • Following state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code
  • Directing and training workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair
  • Proficiency with electrical testing devices and tools
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot electrical problems
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools for electrical repairs
  • Understanding of state and local building regulations, including the National Electric Code
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and training skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safety and knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years and up to 5 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry
  • Experience with electrical maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • A track record of conducting routine inspections and performing preventative maintenance
  • History of working with electrical systems including wiring, control, and lighting systems
  • Experience inspecting electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers
  • Demonstrated ability to follow electrical code specifications and building regulations
  • Experience in directing and training staff on electrical system installations, maintenance, or repairs
  • Prior experience in a role requiring minimal supervision and high levels of initiative
  • High School diploma or equivalent educational level with relevant technical training
  • Any relevant certifications or licenses as an electrician are highly desirable
