About the role
The Maintenance Dispatcher is a crucial position at Nashville International Airport (BNA), supporting the maintenance department and ensuring prompt responses to repair requests.
Responsibilities
- Distributes hot work permits and red tag impairments and coordinates fire system operations with contractors and maintenance teams as required.
- Answers emergency calls and coordinates repairs when necessary.
- Responds to phone calls, records information, and creates work orders requests.
- Captures and analyzes daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly metrics of work orders as directed by the supervisor.
- Enters assets in the work order system upon acquisition or removal from service.
- Controls the distribution of building keys to contractors and staff, reporting keys not returned promptly.
- Notifies proper authorities regarding fire system impairments.
- Coordinates authorization to get the escalator back in service.
- Routinely develops, tracks, and updates escalators and elevators up/down times, including contractor response times.
- Reminds contractors of safety and security requirements.
- Dispatches maintenance personnel during emergencies.
- Adjusts the fire alarm system to prevent false alarms and distributes the proper job tags for on-site notifications.
- Inspects airport facilities and creates work orders to address deficiencies.
- Follows up with maintenance personnel and requesters.
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with customers.
- Supports the airport's commitment to its culture and values, including Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence (RISE).
- Maintains regular and on-time attendance.
- Follows all safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma
- One (1) year of customer service experience
- Driver's license
- Secure ramp driving certification within 90 days of hire
- Associate's degree in business or a related field of study preferred
- Two to four (2-4) years of dispatch, radio communication, customer service, or related experience
