About the role

Maintenance of facility and equipment, including preventive maintenance and urgent repair needs. Provides counsel to management regarding facility issues.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for budget, accounts payable, reports, and required documentation.
  • Responsible for Preventative Maintenance program and ensures compliance according to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintains all facility equipment in a safe and functioning manner.
  • Maintains furnishings and grounds, plumbing, and electrical fixtures.
  • Responds to requests for repairs as directed by General Manager.
  • Responsible for fire safety. Conducts monthly fire drills in accordance with Life Safety and Federal regulations. Participates in general orientation on fire safety.
  • Chair of Safety Committee. Responsible for safety on the grounds.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement and Department Head meetings.
  • Handles and/or supervises snow removal and landscaping.
  • Has on-call responsibility to respond to off-hours facility emergencies.
  • Applies “5 Star” customer-service approach in all aspects of the job.
  • Actively supports Wingate’s commitment to providing “5 Star” service on all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
  • Reports to the appropriate managers any known or suspected violations of policy and procedures, regulations, or standards of conduct.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with general electrical and plumbing.
  • Carpentry skills required.
  • Must have knowledge of general maintenance and functions of all equipment.
  • Must carry walkie talkie and respond to maintenance calls.
  • Must be able to write and read with clarity sufficient to follow instructions.
  • Must read, know, and follow personnel, department, and facility policies.
  • Must know how to turn off main power supply, water supply, and/or gas supply to facility.
  • Must be able to see small details in equipment, machinery, etc.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Exposure Control Plan for Bloodborne Pathogens and Fire & Disaster Plan, and follow policies and procedures.
