Maintenance Director
Chandler Creek Post Acute is a 133-bed skilled nursing facility in Greer, South Carolina. We are dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff through our team-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, implement, and oversee all maintenance department operations
- Develop and maintain maintenance policies, procedures, and schedules
- Coordinate maintenance services with nursing, dietary, activities, housekeeping, and other departments
- Supervise maintenance staff and ensure department goals are met
- Conduct daily rounds to monitor facility conditions and staff performance
- Inspect storage rooms, utility areas, equipment, and facility systems regularly
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs and repair schedules
- Ensure outside vendors and contractors complete work according to contracts and work orders
- Participate in surveys, inspections, and regulatory reviews
- Develop and implement corrective action plans for identified deficiencies
- Oversee fire safety, life safety, emergency preparedness, and environmental safety programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, infection control practices, and safety regulations
- Maintain and monitor MSDS/SDS documentation and hazardous chemical storage
- Train department staff on safety procedures and proper equipment use
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and departmental reports
- Ensure medical waste and hazardous materials are handled and disposed of properly
- Respond to facility emergencies and coordinate maintenance support as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in maintenance, plant operations, or a related field
- Healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care maintenance experience preferred
- Experience managing maintenance budgets, schedules, and personnel
- Knowledge of boilers, generators, compressors, and facility mechanical systems
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building maintenance systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and life safety requirements
- Familiarity with infection control and environmental safety standards in healthcare settings
