Maintenance/Custodian

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall cleaning and upkeep of the Cleveland West Park Corps facility.
• Maintain building exterior: remove debris, ensure snow removal and salting on sidewalks.
• Set up rooms for all programs according to the schedule.
• Follow cleaning schedule for all offices and program spaces, with attention to special program considerations (clean/disinfect, dust, mop, vacuum, trash).
• Empty trash daily.
• Ensure that tools are clean and ready for use (mop head/bucket, rags, sponges, etc.).
• Clean all windows, glass doors, and glass panels of each office/room.
• Refill paper towels, toilet paper, and soap dispensers.
• Clean restrooms and common areas regularly; clean office areas as needed.
• Assist with cleaning, sweeping, and mopping of gym and kitchen areas (remove scuffs, debris, etc.).
• Complete “deep cleaning” tasks as assigned by Supervisor (tables, chairs, walls, etc.).
• Monitor inventory and report to Operations Manager for supply orders.
• Immediately address and/or notify Supervisor of needed repairs or safety concerns.
• Assist with the smooth operation of food programs, providing support as requested.
• Clean out vehicles as requested.
• Assist with any other project as assigned by the Corps Officer or Operations Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma; work experience a plus.
• Good communication and people skills.
• Able to read/follow safety labels and heed verbal direction from Supervisor.
• Self-starter.
• Driver’s license a plus.
• Handyman skills a plus.

• Maintains appropriate boundaries with clients and employees.
• Displays appropriate behavior (respectful language/tone) to internal and external contacts.
